Architects, Berlin | Germany Fabricator: Signpartner A/S, Esbjerg | Denmark Year of Construction: 2007 Product: ALUCOBOND® Champagne Metallic and Bronze Metallic “Food Factory” and “Curiosity Center” are located at the hub of “Danfoss Universe”, a 5.5 hectare science amusement park near the Danfoss headquarters in Nordborg, Denmark. These buildings, a restaurant and an exhibition-conference-centre, are linked by the outdoor landscape, and they reflect Danfoss Universe’s character of scientific curiosity. The buildings emerge from the ground to provide spaces which articulate the fusion of the outdoor landscape with the indoor exhibitions. This active integration in the environment is perfectly compatible with the programme and the location within the park. The building endpoints make the boundaries between structures and parkland indistinct, and interior and exterior are linked by information areas and projection surfaces which relate to the theme of temporary exhibitions inside. The façade featuring a combination of ALUCOBOND® in light champagne metallic and darker bronze metallic emphasizes the modern and scientific character of the two buildings. „Food Factory“ und „Curiosity Center“ befinden sich im Zentrum des „Danfoss Universe“, einem 5,5 Hektar großen Vergnügungspark in der Nähe der Firma Danfoss in Nordborg, Dänemark. Die Gebäude, ein Restaurant und ein Ausstellungs- und Konferenzzentrum werden durch die umgebende Landschaft verbunden. Sie malen ein Bild von der Identität wissenschaftlicher Neugier des Danfoss Universe. Die Gebäude ragen aus dem Boden heraus und bieten Raum, der die Verbindung von Außenlandschaft und Innenausstellung herstellt. Die aktive Einbeziehung der Umgebung passt perfekt zum Programm und Ort des Parks. So lassen die Endpunkte der Gebäude die Grenze zwischen Bauwerk und Park verschmelzen. Der Bezug von Innen und Außen entsteht durch Informationsbereiche und Projek- tionsflächen, je nach aktueller Ausstellung im Inneren. Die Fassade aus ALUCOBOND® in hellem Champagnermetallic und dunklerem Bronzemetallic unterstreicht den modernen, wissenschaftlichen Charakter der Gebäude. Forms & Elements 13/2014 16
